Services

Dr. Lynd provides psychiatric care to children, teenagers, and adults who struggle with a wide range of psychiatric symptoms. She provides medication and/or psychotherapy based on each patient’s unique needs.

Medication Management

Dr. Lynd thoughtfully prescribes medication to treat a wide range of psychiatric symptoms. She practice evidence-based medicine while also considering the distinct symptoms and individual characteristics of each patient. She understands that for some patients the decision to start medication can be an anxiety-inducing one, and collaborates closely with patients to create a treatment plan that aligns with their values and goals.

Psychotherapy

Dr. Lynd provides psychotherapy (also known as “talk therapy”) to teenagers and adults. Her therapeutic approach is primarily rooted in psychodynamic principles and the exploration of how past experiences inform current behavior, with the goal of facilitating personal growth, understanding, and healing. Dr. Lynd also integrates principles from supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapies (TF-CBT and CPT) based on each patient’s symptoms.

Initial Evaluation

The comprehensive initial evaluation is an opportunity for Dr. Lynd to gather important information including a psychiatric, medical, developmental, and social history. Together, a treatment plan will be created to meet each patient’s needs.

Initial Phone Screening

Prospective patients are required to schedule a free 10-minute phone call with Dr. Lynd before booking an initial evaluation. This brief screening call allows prospective patients to discuss their symptoms and treatment goals while learning more about Dr. Lynd's practice. If Dr. Lynd’s practice feels like a good fit to both parties, an initial evaluation will be scheduled. Parents/guardians can complete this phone call on behalf of their child/teenager.

Child/Adolescent Patients

Two 60-minute initial evaluation appointments, which includes time meeting with parents/guardians.

With permission, information from the patient’s pediatrician, school, and therapist (if applicable) will be collected between evaluation appointments.

Adult Patients

One 90-minute initial evaluation appointment.

With permission, information from the patient’s primary care physician and therapist (if applicable) will be collected following the appointment. Dr. Lynd will also involve any additional supports (such as spouses, parents, etc.) in treatment based on each patient’s preference.

Follow-Up Appointments

At the start of treatment, follow-up appointments are scheduled every 1-4 weeks based on the patient’s symptoms and whether they are being seen for medication, psychotherapy, or both. Follow-up appointments range from 25-50 minutes. Appointments are spaced out gradually as symptoms stabilize.
